Clear and well described instructions how to stay in the moment。 Nothing more exists outside of it。A little bit too many religious and spiritual stories for my taste。 He answers questions in his book and forms a story around it。 Sometimes the answers are surprisingly harsh and aggressive though。Nevertheless, pleasant and inspirational book to read!

The Power of Now brought up complex concepts, paradoxes and difficult life situations to a whole new perspective to me。 It is all about dwelling in the present, yes, as simple but also as complicated as this can be。 Learning to master this skill is a long and delightful process, so it's definitely a book to read slowly and re-read as many times as one wants to。 The Power of Now brought up complex concepts, paradoxes and difficult life situations to a whole new perspective to me。 It is all about dwelling in the present, yes, as simple but also as complicated as this can be。 Learning to master this skill is a long and delightful process, so it's definitely a book to read slowly and re-read as many times as one wants to。 。。。more

Eu daria nota 5 se o livro fosse até a metade。 Porque depois ele fica repetindo os conceitos。

It's that kind of book that depends on the person who's reading。 Which is obviously every book。 But then if we take this book into consideration, I feel like it could've been shorter instead of repeating the same ideals into a brief book。 It does cover a few good pointers but due to my personal knowledge of most of the topics, I couldn't find myself attaining utmost satisfaction after completing。It's one of those books that gives you a short reminder that yes, the present is important。 It's the It's that kind of book that depends on the person who's reading。 Which is obviously every book。 But then if we take this book into consideration, I feel like it could've been shorter instead of repeating the same ideals into a brief book。 It does cover a few good pointers but due to my personal knowledge of most of the topics, I couldn't find myself attaining utmost satisfaction after completing。It's one of those books that gives you a short reminder that yes, the present is important。 It's the NOW that matters and always will。 Be it your life, your relationship or any given moment, what matters is living in the NOW。 I liked the emphasis on that when he related to it scientifically。 Since I'm an admirer to see things from a spiritual perspective too, I wasn't much fond of that aspect from this book though。 It felt one sided to his way of communicating the importance of being in the NOW。 But all in all, it's alright。 。。。more

Loved this book。 It lead me to my own spiritual awakening。

Maybe it’s because I read it in Dutch and the translation didn’t work, but I didn’t finish it。 I was really excited to read it and some parts are educational, but other parts weren’t that thrilling。

Basically stop thinking and be present。 Overly repetitive, each chapter is the same advice just worded differently。

It's undoubtedly a great book to remind us of the time to slow down, breathe and reconnect with the present。 Because the now is the truest thing we have。 A lesson I learned and I will always remember。 It's undoubtedly a great book to remind us of the time to slow down, breathe and reconnect with the present。 Because the now is the truest thing we have。 A lesson I learned and I will always remember。 。。。more

Thought provoking book on how our thoughts can create a reality that tortures us。 Getting out of your head and just being will provide a less painful life journey。 This may be one to reread in a year or two to see what I've absorbed Thought provoking book on how our thoughts can create a reality that tortures us。 Getting out of your head and just being will provide a less painful life journey。 This may be one to reread in a year or two to see what I've absorbed 。。。more

I have been participating in a zoom bookclub, studying this book。 This is a group of about 20 intelligent, well-read, articulate, thoughtful people。 Almost everyone has been quite angry at the book for its lack of foundation, especially in science, and frustrated at some of its assumptions。 And yet, for me and a number of other members, this frustration has caused us to pursue a topic until we've fleshed it out to our way of learning。 It has also led to insights and delight at times。 I feel like I have been participating in a zoom bookclub, studying this book。 This is a group of about 20 intelligent, well-read, articulate, thoughtful people。 Almost everyone has been quite angry at the book for its lack of foundation, especially in science, and frustrated at some of its assumptions。 And yet, for me and a number of other members, this frustration has caused us to pursue a topic until we've fleshed it out to our way of learning。 It has also led to insights and delight at times。 I feel like I'm in a posse that is required to jump often from horse to horse and go off in new directions。 Perhaps the author's most pervasive problem is his claim to be an expert。 It he is, he hasn't decided in which 'nowology' he wishes to settle。 。。。more

My first re-read, ever! A great one to listen to, as the words seem to seep in, read by the author directly to you, as you get ready, take a walk, do the dishes etc。 the words spoken aloud are more internalized for those needing emotional relief, like a church service or spiritual guidance session would。

I was told by many that this was a life changing book。 Good for them but this wasn’t for me。 I disliked the verbose and condescending tone。 However, I consciously acknowledged my thoughts and feelings and let it pass。 The power of now is that I’m finally done with The Power of Now。

Among a bundle of what I refer to as 'recommended classic personal development reading' this, one of many Eckhart Tolle books imbues a sense of calm。 It sets the backdrop for future peaceful existence and proactive inquiry into such。 Among a bundle of what I refer to as 'recommended classic personal development reading' this, one of many Eckhart Tolle books imbues a sense of calm。 It sets the backdrop for future peaceful existence and proactive inquiry into such。 。。。more

Initially sceptical but approaching this with an open mind, I was expecting to be turned off by the subject matter but found myself really pulled into the essence of what he was saying。 It seemed to jive with my overall philosophy towards life anyway, but perhaps on a much deeper level。 I did find that he droned on a bit too much in places and I found myself thinking ‘yeah yeah, be present, live in the now blah blah blah’。 Overall though, a worthy read。 Lots to think about。。。or not。 😜
